William Carey University

A Brookhaven native, Tommy played basketball and baseball under Coach John O'Keefe. In basketball, he was a tough defender, but was also capable of breakout offensive games. Playing baseball, he was a 2nd baseman & outfielder and a tough out.  Considered to be "one of the best competitors to ever play at Carey", he was as "hardnosed" as they come, an attribute that certainly helped during his coaching career.

After graduation, Tommy was a girls HS basketball coach before becoming an assistant women's basketball coach under the legendary Sue Gunter at LSU, a position he held from 1984- 1998.
