Cohutta, Ga. – Competing in a premier field that featured multiple Top 25 and Top 10 NAIA programs, the William Carey Lady Crusaders rallied from a 10-shot deficit over the final nine holes to earn a share of first place at the 54-hole Lady Roadrunner Spring Invitational.
WCU finished tied atop the leaderboard with fourth-ranked SCAD Savannah and tournament host and second-ranked Dalton State College. The Lady Crusaders' late surge capped an impressive team performance against one of the strongest fields of the spring season.
Individually,
Taamtond Nivasananda continued her outstanding play with a runner-up finish in the medalist competition. She highlighted her tournament with a team-low round of two-under-par 70.
Gracie Bloom also delivered a strong showing, recording three rounds of 74 to secure a top 10 finish in sixth place.
Dalton State ultimately claimed the championship trophy by winning a playoff over SCAD Savannah, with William Carey finishing third in the tiebreaker.
The Lady Crusaders close out the spring season with an unblemished overall record of 30-0-2.
William Carey returns to action April 20–22 at the SSAC Conference Championship, hosted at RTJ Cambrian Ridge in Greenville, Alabama.
