Ypsilanti, Mich. – The Lady Crusaders posted rounds of 315, 316, and 328 to finish in 13th place at the rain-shortened NAIA Women's Golf National Championship.
After a grueling 48 hours, round 1 of the championship finally concluded with the Lady Crusaders sitting in a solid 13th place out of 30 teams.
Play began Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. under brutal conditions, as competitors battled sustained winds of 20–30 mph throughout the day. Two separate weather delays interrupted play, and a second round of thunderstorms eventually forced suspension of competition late Tuesday afternoon.
Round 1 resumed Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. under calmer conditions and was finally completed later in the day.
Aidan Haithcock led the way for WCU with a stellar opening-round 75, placing her tied for seventh individually heading into Round 2.
The Lady Crusaders climbed three spots on the leaderboard after the second round of the National Championship.
Taamtond Nivasananda paced WCU with a solid round of 76, while
Pattaramon Ruangrung added a 78. With their performance, the Lady Crusaders also extended their streak of making the cut at the NAIA National Championship to nine consecutive appearances.
WCU closed out the tournament with a final-round 328 to secure a 13th-place finish out of 30 teams. Haithcock once again led the way, carding a 78 to earn a top 25 finish, tying for 23rd individually.
