WEST POINT, Miss. – The WCU women's golf team posted rounds of 315 and 308 on day one of the BMCU Classic to take a 13-shot lead into the final round, then held off a hot-shooting #2 Dalton State team with a final-round score of 307 to secure first place.
Gracie Bloom led the way in the opening round; finishing tied for fifth at five-over-par 77. Gracelyn Cooley finished one shot back, while
Taamtond Nivasananda ended the first round in 12th place.
Round two began shortly after the conclusion of the opening round, with Nivasananda surging up the leaderboard. She fired an even-par 72 to move into first place at the end of the day. Aiden Haithcock also climbed the standings, carding a five-over-par round to finish the day inside the top ten. Cooley followed her opening-round score with another six-over-par performance to remain inside the top ten as well.
In the final round, Nivasananda turned in another even-par 72 to earn medalist honors with a three-day total of eight-over par. Cooley posted her best round of the tournament, a one-over-par 73, to earn All-Tournament Team honors with a third-place finish. Bloom recorded a final-round score of eight-over par to finish tied for seventh, while Haithcock concluded the tournament in 13th place.
