CLINTON, Miss. – The William Carey University women's cross-country team opened the 2026 season with a fourth-place finish at the MC Opener, hosted by Mississippi Christian, tallying 92 points in the season-opening meet.
 
Leading the way for the Crusaders was Kristina Stojanovic, who placed sixth overall in the 5K race with a time of 19 minutes, 5 seconds.
 
Sydney Moudy turned in a 17th-place finish, crossing the line in 19:58, while Hannah Mitchell followed in 23rd place with a time of 20:48.
 
Virginia Tirado finished 25th overall in 20:55, with Maria Tirado clocking a time of 21:11. Macy Robertson rounded out the William Carey contingent with a mark of 21:24.
 
William Carey returns to action on Sept. 18 at the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama.
