GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Crusaders totaled 185.5 points to finish second at the 2026 SSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Barnabas Aggerh led off the championships in impressive fashion, capturing the 100-meter title with a time of 10.33.
Dejean Francees added a third-place finish in 10.40. In the 110-meter hurdles, Jordyn Payne earned silver after clocking 14.50, while
Jalin Brown placed fourth.
The Crusaders dominated the 200 meters by placing four athletes among the top five. Session secured gold with a time of 20.80, while Aggerh earned bronze. Francees finished fourth in 21.62, and
Quinjerus Miles rounded out the top five.
Jovel Madourie claimed gold in the 400 meters, leading a strong Crusader showing that also included
Jer'Myiah Stuckey in fourth and Session in fifth. Brown returned to the podium in the 400-meter hurdles with a third-place finish, while
Jaxson Farmer crossed the line in fourth.
In the middle-distance events,
Santiago Vazquez finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.79, followed closely by
Luke Skinner in sixth at 1:57.92. The pair swapped positions in the 1,500 meters, as Skinner placed fifth in 4:02.34 and Vazquez finished sixth in 4:02.39.
Matthew McGuire earned a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters after posting a time of 15:19 and later added a sixth-place result in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:40.
The relay teams closed out the track events in strong fashion. Francees, Aggerh, Miles, and Session captured gold in the 4x100 relay with a time of 40.97. Moilanen, Beard, Vazquez, and Skinner placed fourth in the 4x800 relay (8:16), while Farmer, Stuckey, Skinner, and Madourie ran to a silver-medal finish in the 4x400 relay.
In the field events,
Avery Abram placed fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.95 meters, while
Charles Wilson recorded a mark of 37.58 meters in the javelin. The Crusaders again showed their depth in the long jump, placing four athletes in the top five.
Royan Walters won gold with a leap of 7.14 meters, Abram finished third (6.91m), Wilson took fourth (6.85m), and
Romaine Lewis placed fifth (6.79m). Abram added another championship to his résumé by winning the triple jump with a mark of 14.58 meters. Wilson earned silver at 13.68 meters, and Walters finished fifth.
The Crusaders will next compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, scheduled for May 20–22 in Asheville, N.C.
