HATTIESBURG, Miss. – William Carey Archery turned in a strong performance at the 2026 USA Archery Indoor Nationals, finishing fourth overall in a field of more than 70 teams.
On the individual side,
Valentina Villamizar led the Lady Crusaders in the women's recurve, placing 14th out of 132 archers. In the women's compound division,
Morgan Rives delivered a standout performance, taking first place out of 100 competitors, while
Samantha Roberts secured a 15th-place finish.
In women's barebow,
Emmie Purcell also claimed a national title with a first place finish out of 149 archers. In the women's fixed pins division,
Julia Pryor placed 13th, followed by
Anna Grace Lowery, who finished 18th out of 111 competitors.
On the men's side,
Elias Reyes narrowly missed the top ten with an 11th-place finish out of 94 archers in men's compound, while
Elijah Hillensbeck earned an impressive 8th-place finish out of 135 competitors in men's barebow.
In team competition, Reyes and
Lewie Ahlwardt recorded a seventh-place finish in men's compound, and the duo of Rives and Roberts took second place in women's compound. In men's barebow, Hillensbeck and
Paul Chaney added another top-ten result with a ninth-place finish. The women's barebow pairing of Purcell and
Leigha Hubbard posted a 10th-place finish, while Pryor and Lowery claimed sixth in women's fixed pins.
The event concluded with mixed pairs competition. In recurve,
Santiago Pinilla and Villamizar finished eighth, while Jacob Turner and Pryor placed 10th in fixed pins. In compound, the team of Reyes and Rives brought home silver, and in barebow, Hillensbeck and Purcell captured gold to close out the Crusaders' strong showing.
