Cross Country Performs Well at Firehawk Invitational

OAKVILLE, Ala. – The WCU Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams competed in the Firehawk Invitational Saturday morning with the guys compiling 161 points to finish in fifth place and the ladies placing third with 106 points.
 
The Crusaders were led by Luke Skinner who posted a time of 26:01 to finish in sixth place and Matthew McGuire who finished in seventh place with a time of 26:07 in the 8K event.
 
Noah Moudy was the next to cross the finish line with a time of 27:55 with Niklas Moilanen posting a time of 28:41. Finishing things off for Carey was Julius Giller who crossed the finish line in 30:06.
 
In the first 6K event of the season, Kristina Stojanovic led the way with a time of 22:38 to finish in sixth place. Maria Tirado posted a 15th place finish with a time of 23:13 with Sydney Moudy finishing in 23rd place with a time of 24:04.
 
Hannah Mitchell crossed the line in 34th place with a time of 24:45 while Macy Robertson posted a time of 25:05 to finish in 37th place. Finishing things off were Virginia Tirado who posted a time 25:18 to finish in 43rd place, Audrey Waller who came in 48th with a time of 25:49, and Aurora Latimer who finished with a time of 26:17.
 
Both squads are back in action October 4, as they head to Louisville, Ky. for the Louisville Classic.
