Lady Crusaders Capture Fourth SSAC Cross Country Championship

OAKVILLE, Ala. – The WCU Women's Cross Country team continued its impressive run of success, compiling 40 points to claim its fourth Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Cross Country Championship — and its second consecutive title.
 
Kristina Stojanovic led the charge for the Lady Crusaders, capturing the individual championship with a time of 22:16.91. Maria Tirado joined her on the podium, finishing second overall with a time of 22:33 to give WCU a strong 1–2 punch at the top of the leaderboard.
 
Sydney Moudy turned in a solid performance, finishing eighth with a time of 23:21, followed by Hannah Mitchell in 13th at 24:07. Macy Robertson placed 16th in 24:33, Virginia Tirado took 18th with a time of 24:49, and Audrey Waller rounded out the team's effort with a 25th-place finish at 25:09.
 
With the championship victory, the Lady Crusaders earned an automatic bid to the NAIA Cross Country National Championships, which will be held on November 21 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
 
On the men's side, the Crusaders placed sixth overall, highlighted by an outstanding individual performance from Matthew McGuire, who qualified for the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship. McGuire finished third in the 8K race with a time of 25:51. Luke Skinner followed with a time of 28:42, Moah Moudy finished in 29:58, Niklas Moilanen clocked 31:23, and Santiago Vazquez rounded out the team with a time of 37:57.
