HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Women's Basketball Team pulled away early, as they cruised to an 88-52 victory over Blue Mountain Christian Saturday afternoon at Clinton Gym.
After a back and forth start to the game, a three pointer by
Rose Warren sparked the WCU offense to a 14-0 run to take a 20-5 lead into the second quarter. The hot shooting continued, as the Lady Crusaders would pull away to as many 28 points before taking a 46-20 lead into the break.
Carey would put the game away coming out the break leading by as many as 40 points down the stretch.
Shaneal Corpuz led four Lady Crusaders in double figures with 17 points with
Rose Warren finishing with 15 points.
Jenna Garriga added 12 points while
Leah Sutton had 10 points.
Carey is back in action Tuesday, February 20, as they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take on Stillman College in SSAC action. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
