HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Women's Basketball Team rolled to an 82-46 victory over UT-Southern Thursday night at Clinton Gym.
The Lady Crusaders wasted no time in seizing control of the game, opening on a 16-2 run before going on to take a 24-6 lead into the second quarter. Things were closer in the second quarter but the Firehawks could not gain any ground, as Carey would take a 37-18 lead into the break.
WCU would put the game away coming out the break, outscoring UTS 45-28 in the third and fourth quarter, leading by as many as 38 down the stretch.
Lauren Rowley led the offense with 17 points.
Kolten Blakeney finished with 14 points while
Jenna Garriga added 10 points.
WCU is back in action Saturday, February 17, as they take on Blue Mountain Christian in conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 pm at Clinton Gym.
