HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The William Carey Women's Golf Team competed in the NCAA II tournament Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State, taking sixth place after posting rounds of 316, 298, and 307.
Kayla Starr, playing as an individual, led the way in the first round with a one over par 73 to finish in seventh place.
Taamtond Nivasananda ended round one in tenth place with a two over par and followed that with another two-over par in round two to move up to seventh place.
Starr stumbled a bit dropping to eleventh with a four over par while
Gracie Bloom moved up fourteen spots to twelfth with an even par 72 in the second round.
In the final round Starr moved back into the top ten to a tie for eighth place with a total score of ten over par for the tournament. Bloom continued her climb up the leader board, also moving into a tie for eighth place with Nivasananda finishing just outside the top ten in thirteenth place.
