HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Women's Basketball Team continued their strong play with a 63-48 victory over the University of Mobile Wednesday night at Clinton Gym.
Both teams came out of the gate quickly but it would be WCU that would take a 12-10 lead into the second quarter thanks to a 6-0 run to close the quarter.
The Lady Crusaders wasted no time in seizing control of the game in the second quarter. The Carey offense caught fire outscoring the Rams 18-4 with the defense holding Mobile to just one made field goal.
After the break, the WCU offense continued their attack leading by as many as 23 points on their way to victory.
Shaneal Corpuz led the offense with 27 points and 15 rebounds.
Rose Warren finished with 13 points while
Kolten Blakeney pulled down 10 rebounds.
Carey is back in action Saturday, January 27, as they travel to Thomasville, Ga. to take on Thomas University in SSAC action. Tip-off is slated for 11:00 am.
