HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #10 William Carey Men's Soccer rolled past Texas College 9-1 Wednesday afternoon at Danny Owens Field.
The Crusader offense was firing on all cylinders, as they took a 2-0 lead just six minutes into the contest. The first goal came two minutes in as
Jamie Wynne found
Djordje Djukovic who flicked it past the Steer keeper. Three minutes later Wynne picked another assist on a goal by
Caoimhin McConnell.
In the 10
th minute, Wynne found the back of the net with
Aleksander Mihov picking up the assist. An own goal in the 35
th minute would make it 4-0 Carey with Djukovic and Mihov adding goals in the 36
th and 40
th minute for the final goals of the half.
The Crusaders would finish things off in the second with Mihov,
Billy Boag, and
Reon Dawes scoring goals. The lone Texas College goal of the contest came in the 55
th minute on a penalty kick.
WCU is back in Saturday, September 9, as they take on LSU-Shreveport. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Danny Owens Field.
