HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #10 William Carey Men's Soccer picked up a non-conference win, defeating LSU-Shreveport 3-0, Saturday night at Danny Owens Field.

There was not that much excitement in the first half but in the 16^th minute Elias Salminen picked up a loose ball and played the ball forward to Jamie Wynne at the top of the 18 yard box who then fired a shot into the top of the goal.

The 1-0 lead Carey lead would hold until the 74^th minute when Caoimhin McConnell played a corner kick to the right side where Salminen attempted a header but the ball bounced off the post right to the feet of Roberto Rangel who knocked it home.  The final of the contest would come in 84^th minute as Rangel played a ball from the left sign into the box for Reon Dawes who then flicked it past the Pilot keeper.

WCU is back in action Thursday, September 14, as they travel to Thomasville, Ga. to take on Thomas University to open up SSAC play.
