DANVILLE, Ala. – The William Carey Women's Cross Country team tallied 58 points to finish in second place at the 2023 SSAC Women's Cross Country Championship Friday morning at Oakville Indian Mounds Park.
The Lady Crusaders produced three of the top five finishers with
Blanca Conesa taking second place with a time 22:33 in 6K event.
Maria Tirado was right behind in third with a time of 22:35 with
Isabelle Wheeler finishing with a time of 23:13 for a fifth place finish.
Rounding out Carey were
Paige Anderson who finished in 23
rd place with a time of 25:04 and
Hannah Mitchell placing 27
th with a time of 25:22.
With the top finish in the Championship,
Blanca Conesa,
Maria Tirado, and
Isabelle Wheeler all earn individual bids to the 2023 NAIA Women's Cross Country Championship.
