HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #1 William Carey Women's Soccer left little to doubt as they cruised into the semi-finals of the SSAC Championship with a 12-0 victory over Middle Georgia State, Thursday afternoon at
Danny Owens Field.

Less than two minutes into the contest
Mariangela Jimenez netted the first goal of the day with
Christina Salmon picking up the assist. Five minutes later Salmon found herself on the scoring side, picking up her first goal of the day on a cross from
Julia Herbst.Â

Maria Azarias found Jimenez in the 17
th minute who fired it home for her second goal of the afternoon.Â
Zalma Torres capped the first half scoring, making it 5-0 Carey with back to back goals in the 32
nd & 42
nd minute.
The Lady Crusaders once again wasted no time in the second half with a goal by
Karen Vilau just a minute in. Salmon netted her second goal three minutes later with an own goal in the 63
rd minute making it 8-0 WCU.

Jimenez completed the hat trick in the less than a minute later with Virginia getting in on the action with a goal in the 77
th minute. Not to be outdone, Torres also picked up a hat trick in the 82
nd minute with the final goal coming from
Fernanda Pena Nieto in the 86
th minute.

Carey is back in action Wednesday, November 8, as they head to Montgomery, Ala. where they will take on the winner out of Thomas University and Dalton State. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00 am at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.
