HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #1 William Carey Women's Soccer picked up a non-conference win Thursday night with a 4-1 victory over #22 Georgia Gwinnett College.
 
The Lady Crusaders wasted no time in taking control of the game with three first half goals.  The first goal of the half came in the 13^th minute as Julia Herbst crossed the ball to Mariangela Jimenez who then fired it home from 18 yards out.
 
In the 23^rd minute, it was Alexis Arnoult that found Jimenez inside the 18 yard box who then knocked it into the to bottom left corner of the goal.  The final goal of the half would come just before the break, as Zalma Torres crossed the ball to a wide open Kristina Decker who knocked it home.
 
Carey added their final goal of the match in the 63^rd minute. Jimenez would fire a shot from 25 yards out but the Grizzly keeper was there to knock it down.  However the ball fell to the feet of a waiting Karen Vilau who promptly found the back of the back of the net.  GGC would add the final goal match of the match in the 84^th minute.
 
WCU is back in action Saturday, October 7, as they travel to Montgomery, Ala. to take on Faulkner University in SSAC action.  Kick-off is slated for 11:00 am.
