MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The William Carey Volleyball Team took care of business Tuesday evening, defeating SSAC foe Faulkner University in straight sets.
In the first set with the score tied at 12, the Lady Crusaders made their move, using a 13-4 run take the set. Faulkner got off to a quick start in the second set, taking an early 6-2 lead but WCU countered with a 5-1 run to even the set. From there both teams traded shots. With WCU holding a 21-20 lead, they rallied for four straight points to take the set and a 2-0 lead.
In the third set Carey held a slim lead for the entire set. Just as it looked like the Lady Crusaders were taking control of the match, building an 18-12 lead, the Eagles mounted a comeback battling back to make it 21-20 WCU. Carey regrouped and halted the rally with four straight points.

Mia Hague would provide back kills followed by an attack error by Faulkner would make it 24-20 WCU. The Lady Crusaders would close out the set and the match with a kill from
Elaina Anderson.
WCU is back in action Friday, September 16, as they have their 2022 home opener against Talladega College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Ben Waddle Complex.
