HATTIESBURG, Miss. – William Carey Women's Basketball pulled away late, to defeat Stillman College 61-43, Saturday afternoon at Clinton Gym.
Things were tight in the first half until the Lady Crusaders closed the second quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 30-22 lead into the break. WCU came out quick in the third quarter, stretching their lead to 14 with three to play.
However, the Tigers cut the lead to 44-37 but five straight points by Carey in the final minute pushed the lead back to 10. From there the Lady Crusaders put the game away leading by as many 19 points down the stretch.
McKinley Seal led the way finishing the game with 18 points and six assist while
Rebekah Engle finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the double double.
WCU is back in action Monday, December 12, as they take on Talladega College in SSAC action. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm at Clinton Gym.
