COCHRAN, Ga. – The William Carey Women's Basketball team wrapped up their Georgia road trip with a 62-43 victory over Middle Georgia State Saturday afternoon.
Things went back and forth at the start, with the Knights eventually taking a 17-15 lead into the second quarter. Things remained tight in the second quarter but the Lady Crusaders would take a 32-28 lead into the break on two point baskets by
Jerryonne Owens and
Mckalea Randall.
The WCU offense came out of the break on fire and the defense shut down the Knights, as WCU raced to a 44-32 lead going into the final quarter. Over the final 10 minutes of play, the Lady Crusaders continued the offensive attack leading by as many as 20 points down the stretch.
Lauren Rowley led the way with 15 points and five rebounds.
Rebekah Engle added 13 points while
McKinley Seal had 11 assists and seven rebounds.
WCU is back in action November 28, as they travel to New Orleans, La. to take on Dillard University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
