MOBILE, Ala. – After suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday to Blue Mountain, the William Carey Volleyball Team bounced back with a thrilling five set victory over the University of Mobile, Tuesday night at Pharr Gym.
Both teams came ready to play, as the largest lead in the first set was three points. With WCU holding a 24-23 lead, three straight errors by Carey would give UM the 26-24 first set win. The Lady Crusaders shook off the first set loss leaving little to doubt in the second. WCU raced out to a 10-4 lead and never looked back taking the set 25-14 to even things up.

With the Lady Crusaders leading 16-15, they slowly started to pull away and held off a late rally by Mobile to take the set 25-22. After a back and forth start to the fourth set, the UM offense went on a 7-0 run and WCU could not recover as Mobile took the set 25-19 to force the deciding fifth set.
In the final set, the Lady Crusaders and Rams were locked in. With Carey leading 6-5, they made their move using a 9-3 run to take the set and the match.
