HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #5 William Carey Women's Soccer left little to doubt Thursday night, defeating Faulkner University 8-1 at
Danny Owens Field.

Julia Herbst six minutes into the contest to put Carey up 1-0. WCU made it 2-0 in the 12
th minute on a goal by Sousa and
Anni Rusanen capped the first half scoring with a goal in the 17
th minute.
The Lady Crusaders opened the scoring in the second half with a goal by
Maria Azarias on a free kick in the 51
st minute. WCU would take a 6-0 lead with goals by
Valeria Barajas and Sousa in the 54
th and 57
th minute. Rusanen made it 7-0 in the 63
rd minute with Faulkner adding their lone goal of the context in the 66
th minute.Â
Karen Vilau finished things off for Carey with a goal in the 82
nd minute.
The Lady Crusaders are back in action Wednesday, Octo 19, as they head to Lawrenceville, Ga. to take on Georgia Gwinnett in non-conference action.
