MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The William Carey Women's Tennis Team went 2-0 on their Alabama road trip picking up a pair 7-0 victories over Point University and UT-Southern.
The Lady Crusaders wasted no time against the Skyhawks, taking the doubles point with
Isabella Lechuga winning 6-2, 6-0 at #4 singles to make it 2-0 Carey.
Li-Hsien Lin would the point at #3 singles 6-1, 6-1 with
Tiffany Chang clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #2 singles.
Victoria Vieten,
Malak Abarkane, and
Nina Westkamp would also when their matches.
It was much of the same against UTS, as Carey once again started off with taking the doubles point. Vieten would take the point at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0 with Westkamp making it 3-0 WCU with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 singles. Abarkane would seal the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #5 singles with Lin, Chang, and Lechuga also wining their matches.
The Lady Crusaders are back in action Thursday, April 11, as they return home to take on Loyola University in conference action.
