HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Softball Team split a SSAC double header against #13 Mobile, taking game one 2-0 but falling in game two 4-1, Thursday afternoon at Joseph & Nancy Fail Field.
The Lady Crusaders got all the offense they would need in the third inning on a
Brooke Tanner RBI triple and a
Carley Kidder RBI groundout. Starting pitcher
Ryanne Hornsby did the rest, allowing only two hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win.
Carey would once again get on the board first, as
Dee Dee West would score Tanner on a single to left in the first inning. The Rams would get their offense going in the fourth inning, taking the lead for good with four runs on three hits.
Carey is back in action Wednesday, March 13, as they take on LSU-Alexandria in non-conference action. First pitch is slated for 3:00 pm at Joseph & Nancy Fail Field.
