MOBILE, Ala. – The William Carey Men's Tennis Team wrapped up a two match road swing with a 6-1 win over #7 Middle Georgia State on Friday and 7-0 win over Blue Mountain Christian on Saturday.
Against the Knights, the Crusaders wasted no time in taking control, winning the first point at doubles with
Matt Shearer making it 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 win at #2 singles.
Islam Orynbassar would put Carey one point closer with a 6-4, 6-2 win at #1 singles with
Noah Rockstroh sealing the win with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 singles. Also winning their matches were
Antoine Audrain and
Jean Nicolas Leblanc.
On Saturday against the Toppers, WCU left little to doubt, quickly taking the doubles point with Shearer taking the point at #2 singles. Rockstroh would make it 3-0 Crusaders with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #3 singles. The clinching point would come at #6 singles, as
Phil Louis Steinbichler would win 6-3, 6-0. Orynbassar, Audrain, and Leblanc would also win their matches.
Carey is back in action Thursday, March 28, as they host Mobile in SSAC action.
