Box Score COCHRAN, Ga. – The William Carey Women's Basketball Team left little to doubt, as they defeated Middle Georgia State 70-58 Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders got off to a good start, as
Rose Warren,
Lauren Rowley, and
Shaneal Corpuz put Carey up 9-2 to start the game. From there WCU would push their lead to 16-4 with under four minutes left before going on to take a 23-9 lead into the second quarter.
It was much of the same in the second quarter, as the Lady Crusaders stretched their lead to 37-16 at the break. Carey would put the game away coming out of the break leading by as many 33 points on their way to victory.
Lauren Rowley led the offense with 11 points with
Zoey Cooley setting a new season high 10 points.
WCU is back in action Thursday, February 15, as they return home to take on UT-Southern in conference action. Tip-off is slated 5:30 pm at Clinton Gym.
