CLEVELAND, Miss. – Men's & women's swim finished 3^rd and 4^th respectively this week as they took part in the Delta State Christmas Invitational. Both teams competed against Delta State, West Florida, Montevallo, & Meridian Community College.
 
Both teams competed well with several swimmers on both sides meeting either NAIA A or B qualifying standards. Each team also had athletes set top 5 times in the NAIA.
 
On the men's side, Mate Miszlai competed in five events and finished either 1^st or 2^nd in all of them. Miszlai's best finishes came as he finished first in the 200- & 500-yard freestyle. His 4:25.28 finish in the 500-yard freestyle leads the NAIA. Miszlai also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke and as part of the 200- & 400-yard medley relay teams. Miszlai's time trial in the 200-yard butterfly puts him top of the NAIA with a time of 1"49.76.
 
Hunter Boudreau provided the Crusaders' only other 1^st place finish as he picked up the win in the 100-yard breaststroke. His time of 54.60 is the 4^th best in the NAIA this year and his 50-yard split of 25.28 places him 2^nd in the NAIA. Boudreau claimed two 2^nd place finishes alongside Miszlai in the 200- & 400-yard medley relays.
 
Braedan Jacobs also set an NAIA top-5 time as his 15:57.95 in the 1650 Freestyle sits 5^th in this year's standings. His 1000 Freestyle split time of 9:37.94 also sits 4^th in the NAIA.
 
The women's best finishes came in the relays. Grace Funck, Eszter Kardos, Eva Mangiaracina, & Bisma Khan picked up a 4^th place finish in the 200-yard medley relay and a 3^rd place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Kardos, Funck, & Khan, alongside Chloe Lee, also finished 4^th in the 200- & 800-yard freestyle relay.
 
The Lady Crusaders' best individual finishes came in the 100-yard breaststroke as Kardos finished 6^th and in the 100-yard backstroke as Funck finished 5^th. Funck's time in the 100-yard backstroke is the 3^rd best in the NAIA this year.
