HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Men's Basketball Team knocked off #11 Mobile 74-70 Wednesday night at Clinton Gym.
The Crusaders got off to a hot start, opening on a 13-3 run, behind three point baskets by
Earl Smith,
Dylan Brumfield, and
Ankerion Gross. Carey continued to maintain a comfortable lead, leading by 16 points on multiple occasions before taking a 39-30 lead into the break.
The battle kept going in the second half with the Rams getting within three on multiple occasions. With Carey leading 60-57 with under five minutes remaining,
Kolby Moore would drain two three point basket with Brumfield knocking down a two point basket to push the WCU lead to 68-57 with under three minutes left.
The Crusaders would seal the victory by going 6 of 8 from the free throw line over the final minutes of play.
Dylan Brumfield led five Crusaders in double figures with 17 points.

Kolby Moore all had 11 points with
Kaeden Laws finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Carey is back in action Saturday, January 20, as they travel to Dalton, Ga. to take on Dalton State in SSAC action. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 pm.
