HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Volleyball Team left little to doubt Tuesday night, defeating Touglaoo College in straight sets at the Ben Waddle Complex.
After a back and forth start, the Lady Crusaders reeled off nine straight points to take a commanding 15-7 lead and never looked back, taking the set 25-10. WCU wasted no time in the second set, jumping out to a 14-4 advantage before going on to take the set 25-10. It was much of the same in the third set, as Carey built an early 16-4 advantage, before cruising to a 25-13 victory.
Rachel Stegall finished with 10 kills and eight digs
Lia Romas Bonilla finished with 15 assist and eight digs.
The Lady Crusaders are back in action Thursday, as they open up SSAC play against the University of Mobile in Mobile, Ala. First serve is slated for 6:00 pm.
