COCHRAN, Ga. – #7 William Carey Men's Soccer picked up a SSAC road win Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Middle Georgia State.
The Crusaders found themselves locked in a defensive battle but managed to take a 1-0 lead in the first half, as
Caoimhin McConnell played a corner kick to
Elias Salminen who headed it home in the 22
nd minute.
The one goal lead would hold until the 61
st minute.
Djordje Djukovic dribbled up the left side and crossed the ball to
Reon Dawes who then flicked it into the back of the net to give Carey a two goal lead. McConnell would finish things off with a goal on a PK in the 81
st minute for the final margin. The Crusader defense did the rest limiting the Knights to just two shots with none on goal.
Carey is back in action Saturday, as they head to Mt. Vernon, Ga. for a SSAC match-up against Brewton-Parker. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
