MONTGOMERY, Ala. - #10 William Carey Men's Soccer advances to the SSAC Championship game with a 2-1 victory over Dalton State Wednesday night.
 
The teams battled to a scoreless tie for the majority of the first half until Jack Greenwood cleaned up a loose ball off of a shot attempt by Alessandro Villarreal in the 43rd minute to give the Crusaders the lead.
 
Jamie Wynne would add an insurance goal for WCU in the 54^th minute off a cross from Djordje Djukovic. That goal would prove to be the game winner as the Roadrunners Guilherme Franca netted a goal in the 86^th minute on a free kick.  The Crusader defense stepped up for the final minutes of play not allowing DSC to take a shot.
 
WCU is back in action Friday as they take on Mobile at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.  Kick-off is slated for 7:00 pm.
