HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Volleyball Team left little to doubt Saturday afternoon, as they defeated Stillman College in straight sets at the Ben Waddle Facility.
The Lady Crusaders opened the match with four straight points but the Tigers answered with straight of their own to even things back up. However, Carey responded with nine straight points to take a 13-4 advantage and never looked back, taking the set 25-11.
WCU stayed hot in the second set opening on a 9-4 run. They continued the attack stretching their lead to 21-7 before going on to take the set 25-12. Things went back and forth at the start of the third set. With it tied at seven all, the Lady Crusaders took control, going on an 11-1 run to cruise to a 25-14 win.
Elaina Anderson led the attack finishing with 12 kills while
Barbara Guedes added 11 kills.
WCU is back in action Tuesday, October 24, as they take on Dillard University in non-conference action. First serve is slated for 6:00 pm at the Ben Waddle Facility.
