TALLADEGA, Ala. – The William Carey Women's Basketball team wrapped up their Alabama road trip with a dominating 59-43 win over Talladega College Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders found themselves down 20-15 after the first quarter but outscored the Tornadoes 12-6 in the second to take a 27-26 lead into the break. Carey wasted no time coming out of the break, opening the third quarter on an 8-0 run and never looked back stretching their lead to as many 24 points down the stretch.
Kolten Blakeney led the offense with 15 points with Jeryonne Owens finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Madelyn Ladner added 10 points while
McKinley Seal had 10 assists.
WCU is back in action Thursday, January 26, as they take on Loyola University in SSAC play. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm at Clinton Gymnasium.
