HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Head Coach
Barry Farrell picked up his 100
th career win, as the WCU Men's Soccer Team defeated Texas College 12-0, Monday afternoon at
Danny Owens Field.
The Crusaders left little to doubt, scoring five first half goals. Five minutes into the contest
Caoimhin McConnell headed home a ball from
Nicolo Lai to make 1-0. Less than a minute later McConnell picked up an assist on a goal by
Djordje Djukovic.
The Carey offense slowed a bit but in the 25
th minute McConnell picked up his second goal of the match to put the Crusaders up 3-0.
Juan Ruiz Cabello knocked home a loose ball in the 37
th minute and
Brandon Bermingham capped the scoring in the first half with a goal in the 40
th minute.
The WCU offense continued their hot shooting in the second half with goals from Djukovic, Bermingham, Stojak (3), Dawes, and Salminen for the final margin.
Carey is back in action, Saturday, September 24, as they open up SSAC play against Blue Mountain College. Kick-off is slated for 4:00 pm at
Danny Owens Field.
