FOLEY, Ala. - #3 William Carey Women's Soccer bounced back from a 3-2 loss to #7 UT-Southern on Thursday night and played to a draw against #1 Keiser University Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders took an early 1-0 lead, as
Maria Azarias collected a loose ball in the box and sent a shot over the keepers head in the 12
th minute. Keiser would send the game tied into the half on a goal by Lauren Riley in the 32
nd minute.
Coming out of the break, the Seahawks took the lead in the 55
th minute on a goal by Maja Lundman. Twenty minutes later Azarias sent a shot that bounced off the left post right to the feet of
Camila Pescatore who then beat a KU defender knocking home the equalizer.
WCU is back in action Saturday, September 24, as they take on Blue Mountain College to open SSAC play. Kick-off is slated for 6:30 pm at
Danny Owens Field.Â
