MARIETTA, Ga. - #5 William Carey Women's Soccer started their Georgia roadtrip with a dominating 7-2 victory over Life University Friday night.
The Lady Crusaders got all the offense they would need in the first half. Â
Mariangela Jimenez put WCU on the board in the 14th minute. Â Less than a minute later
Maria Azarias knocked home a free kick with
Camila Pescatore connecting with
Julia Herbst in the 18th minute to make it 3-0 Carey. Â Life cut into the WCU lead with a goal by Anakah Madril scoring in the 19th minute. Â
Laia Sedo would cap the first half scoring, knocking home a free kick just before the half.
Kauany Sousa made it 5-1 Lady Crusaders with a goal less than a minute into the second half. Â The Running Eagles added their second goal of the match in the 53rd minute but Herbst pushed the Carey lead back to four with her second goal in the 62nd minute. Â
Karen Vilau added the final goal of the night for WCU in the 83rd minute.
The Lady Crusaders are back in action Sunday, October 2, as they head to Dalton, Ga. to take on Dalton State in conference action. Â Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 pm.Â
