Crawford works primarily with the Crusaders’ sprints, hurdles and relays
Prior to William Carey, Crawford served as an assistant track & field coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he worked with the Golden Lions’ men’s and women’s programs at the NCAA Division I level. Before UAPB, Crawford served as the head track & field coach at Highland Community College in Kansas.
Throughout his collegiate coaching career, Crawford has helped develop 33 NJCAA national qualifiers, four NJCAA All-Americans and six Academic All-Americans, while athletes under his guidance established 14 school records. His coaching résumé includes working with athletes who produced marks of 6.56 in the men’s 60 meters, 21.57 in the indoor 200 meters and 47.10 in the indoor 400 meters also 800m 1:51. He also coached an athlete who ran 46.73 in the 400 meters and qualified for his national Olympic Trials.
Crawford has also demonstrated success in program building and recruiting. During his time at Highland, he helped expand the program’s roster from approximately 25 student-athletes to more than 50 while developing athletes capable of competing at the national level.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Crawford competed in track & field and cross country at Mississippi Valley State University. During his career, he earned MVP honors in both track & field and cross country, was a two-time Honor Scholar in both sports and earned Athlete of the Week recognition in cross country.
Crawford earned his Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education from Mississippi Valley State University in 2023, graduating with a 3.82 GPA. He previously earned an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Neosho County Community College in 2021.
