Louis Gagnet was born in New Orleans, La. to Grace and Alan Gagnet, both of whom were college divers at the University of Michigan. "Louie" started diving in Carrollton, Texas in 1995 winning his first West JO National Title in 1997. He later moved to California and trained at L'Equipe Dive Team in Irvine with Olympian Janet Ely before joining the Mission Viejo Nadadores from 1998-2001 winning a combined 3 individual JO West Nationals and scoring two 5th place finishes at Senior Nationals.
Gagnet signed with Olympian Patrick Jeffrey at Florida State University where he was undefeated at the Conference Championships and holds the 11-dive conference record. Gagnet is a NCAA All-American, placed 15th at the 2004 Olympic Trials on 3-meter, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
He loves gourmet cuisine, all sports, and entomology.
