Biography
Matthew Hughes is a sprinter from Zachary, Louisiana who specializes in backstroke and freestyle. Over the 2024-25 season Matthew competed in multiple meets in both long course meters and short course yards formats. Most recently, the Louisiana Long Course State Championship where he went best times in almost every race he swam including the 50 Backstroke (29.76) and the 100 Backstroke (1:05.22). Matthew has been swimming for the past seven years but has seen the most improvement over the past three years and hopes to continue his improvement throughout his college seasons.
