Meagan Bond begins her fifth year as assistant at William Carey. She will primarily work with pitchers, but assist with all aspects of the game and recruiting.
A native of Lumberton, Miss., she graduated from Presbyterian Christian High School in 2009. Prior to arriving at William Carey she was the head coach at Presbyterian Christian High School for two years, and assisted at Oak Grove High School for four years.
She played all four years of college at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La., where she is the current career shutouts record holder. In her four years as a pitcher for the Cowgirls, she was a member of the 2010 and 2013 All Louisiana Softball Team, 2010 and 2013 All Southland Conference Team, 2010 Conference Tournament MVP, 2013 All Southland Conference All- Academic Team, 2013 All Southland Pre Season team, and 2013 McNeese State Pitcher of the Year. She was also selected to be on the All-Decade team for 2010-2020. She finished out her final season as a nationally ranked pitcher.
In her time at Carey as the pitching coach, the Crusaders won the regular season and tournament title in 2021 and 2024. They hosted regionals in 2021, 2022, and 2024 in her time coaching. In her time as pitching coach, they have been in the Top 20 Nationally in team ERA, ranking 3rd in team ERA in 2023. As pitching coach for the Crusaders, she helped guide the SSAC 2021 Pitcher of the Year, 2022 SSAC Pitcher and Player of the Year, 2021 and 2022 All American Haley Nations, and the 2023 SSAC Freshman of the year, 2024 SSAC Pitcher of the Year and All American, Ryanne Hornsby.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from McNeese State and a Masters from University of Southern Mississippi in Kinesiology. In her time at McNeese State, she was a member of FCA. She is currently a member of Talowah Methodist Church, where she has taught children’s Bible study previously.
