Hannah Brister

Hannah Brister is a native of Ruth, Miss. She graduated from Parklane Academy in 2014 and William Carey University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She also received her Master’s Degree in Interscholastic Athletic Administration from WCU in 2020.

Hannah was a member of the Carey softball team from 2014-2018 under Coach Craig Fletcher. During her collegiate tenure, the Lady Crusaders went to the Regional Opening Round all four years, competed in the NAIA World Series in 2015, and won the SSAC championship in 2018. She was a four-time Academic All-American, two-time H.M. All-American, earned Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Champions of Character Award. Hannah also holds William Carey’s career record of most wins and shutouts.

After graduating from William Carey, Mrs. Brister coached four years at Southwest MS Community College and one year at North Pike High School before returning to her Alma Mater in 2024. While at SMCC, Coach Brister served as Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. The Lady Bears set records for season and conference wins, were nationally ranked for the first time in program history, and earned a berth in the MACJC playoffs in 2019. While at North Pike, the Lady Jaguars won the District and South State Championship, and were the 4A State Champion Runner-ups.

Hannah is married to Grant Brister. They have two daughters, Evelyn and Hattie Beth Brister. The Bristers are members of First Baptist Church Summit.
