Melissa Puckett is entering her second year as cheerleading coach at William Carey University. Melissa has 7 years of cheerleading experience and 20 years of dance experience. Melissa was a four year member of the Dixie Darlings dance team at USM, as well as a two year member of the Southern Misses dance team.

Melissa is also the Director of Student Activities at William Carey. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Miss WCU Pageant, the university's disciplinary committee, homecoming committee and serves as the advisor for the Student Government Association and Carey Connection. Melissa also oversees Greek Life.

Melissa earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration at William Carey. Melissa is an active member of the USM Alumni Association and the Hattiesburg Alumni Chapter of Chi Omega Sorority.

Off campus, Melissa can be found choreographing for dance teams, cheerleading squads and show choirs, along with serving as a judge for local beauty pageants ranging from elementary to high school and Miss Mississippi preliminaries.
