Hattiesburg, Miss.- the Crusader athletic department has released the 2024-2025 overall winning percentages for four year colleges and universities in the state of Mississippi for each individual sport, and for the second straight year, Willliam Carey University tops all athletic departments in the state. Carey boasted an overall department winning percentage of just under 74%.

The Crusaders had the highest winning percentages in Women's Basketball, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming, and Beach Volleyball.

In addition to having the top scoring athletic department in Mississippi, William Carey won the SSAC Commissioner's Cup for the ninth straight year. Carey posted conference championships in Women's Cross Country, Women's Soccer, Women's Indoor & Outdoor Track and Field, Women's Basketball, Women's Golf, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, and Baseball. The Crusaders were also recognized as one of the top five athletic departments in the NAIA for the second straight year with a fifth place finish out of two hundred fifty schools in the Learfield Cup.

For the 24-25 athletic season, Carey had sixteen of its twenty-one sports make it to the NAIA postseason, which also led Mississippi. Of those sixteen sports, fourteen of them finished the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25. Eight Crusader coaches were also named SSAC Coach of the Year for the season.

The 2025-2026 athletic season is just around the corner and WCU will look to continue their winning ways. The Crusader volleyball team kicks off the regular season on August 21
st coming off of the best season in school history. Men's and Women's Soccer also open on the 21
st at Danny Owens Field on the campus of William Carey. The men's team is coming off a final four finish from 2024 and the women's team won the SSAC Championship for a fifth straight time last season.
