LEWISTON, Idaho – The William Carey baseball Team fell to Cumberlands (Ky.) on day two of the NAIA Avista World Series, ending their season with an overall record of 37-16.
The Patriots would score the first run of the game in the third inning but
Preston Ratliff would tie the game with a solo homerun in the fourth. After Cumberlands picked up a run in the fifth to retake the lead, the Crusaders answered in the sixth with a three run homerun by
Braydon Coffey to take their first lead of the game. However, the Patriots would retake the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth on a grandslam and would hold the Carey offense at bay for the win.
