HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The William Carey Baseball Team completed the series sweep of Middle Georgia State, defeating the Knights 7-0, Saturday afternoon at Milton Wheeler Field.
The game started seeing stellar pitching performances by both starting pitchers, as there were a combined seven hits over four and half innings of play. However, in the bottom of the fifth, the Crusaders broke the scoreless tie with three runs on five hits.
Carey started the inning off with three straight base hits resulting in the first run of the game.
Preston Ratliff followed with an RBI to put WCU up 2-0.
Brady Wilson capped the scoring in the fifth with a RBI single to right.
The Crusaders added to their lead in the sixth on a RBI double by
Jake Lycette and a Ratliff RBI gound out. The final runs of the game would in the form of a
RJ Stinson two run homerun in the seventh.

Carey is back in action Tuesday, April 4, as they take on NCAA opponent West Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm at Milton Wheeler Field.
