HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #12 William Carey softball wasted no time defeating Southeastern Baptist College, run ruling the Chargers 21-0 and 8-0, Tuesday afternoon at Joseph & Nancy Fail Field.
The Lady Crusaders plated two runs in the first on RBIs by
Carley Kidder and
Dee Dee West. WCU then broke the game wide open with seven runs in the second.  Carey dealt  the final blow in the fourth, sending 16 batters to the plate, pounding out nine hits while scoring 12 runs.
Game two did not see the offensive output as game one but Carey took a 4-0 lead after two innings of play. West and Hornsby drove in runs in the first inning with
Brooke Tanner and Rodriguez picking up the RBIs in the second inning. LeBert made it 6-0 in the fourth with a two RBI single to center. The Lady Crusaders finished things off in the fifth on a sac fly by Kidder and a RBI groundout by West.
